Jamie Bamber takes up Law

Jamie Bamber shared some exciting news last night with Watch With Kristin about his next TV role:

According to Jamie, "I'm doing a series in England called Law & Order: UK, and I'm being a cop. And, yes, the show is London judiciary and London cops. It's got the same premise as the original American Law & Order, same everything, just with a UK production company and UK actors. My partner's going to be to be a British guy named Bradley Walsh."

The series, which begins production this August in London, will air first on ITV in the United Kingdom.

[PS: one of the commenters on that post mentions that DOCTOR WHO's Freema Agyeman has been cast as a prosecutor.]

Will L&O:UK air in the US? I'd watch that.

Uugh. Bradley Walsh - third rate UK comedian, and 5th rate actor.

This sounds very interesting/promising. Hopefully we'll see this on a US network or on BBCAmerica.

The Brits have a big advantage over US TV, that being no commercials. If a US network does decide to pick the series up, expect a delay between the broadcast dates in the UK and those in the US. For those reasons, I expect the first few episodes of this series to be popular with the download crowd.

I'll keep an eye out for it....

If it's on ITV, then it'll have commercials. Only British channels without adverts are the BBC.
