Massive spoilers ahoy.

The direct youtube links for the 4 sections are coming from The SciFi Channel's youtube channel.

Off The Wireless

The Battlestar Galactica Season 3 DVD set is in excellent company this month on Amazon’s list of best DVD buys for the month of March. Call it, friendo.

Concurring Opinions has posted full transcripts of their hour-long interview with Ron Moore and David Eick about the series. This was a terrific and in-depth interview - if you haven’t heard it or read it yet, it’s highly recommended.

I've posted my impressions on the Galactica Quorum’s recent James Callis interview, over here at my livejournal. Enjoy…and as they say on LJ, "comments are love."

Wizard Universe has a short interview with Grace Park.

Mary McDonnell was in Dublin recently for the Irish Film and Television Awards. Here is a short video interview with her outside the awards; see WatchingBSG for more info and photos.

Galactica Watercooler found an interview with Richard Hatch on ComicMix Radio.

Leah Cairns’ official site has posted a new interview with the Czech site BSG.CZ, and an audio interview by The SciFi Guys. The latter was taped at last August’s Galactica Three con in London – check out the hilarious snippets at the end of the interview, taken from the live improvs done onstage at the con by Cairns and fellow guests Tahmoh Penikett, Alessandro Juliani and Rekha Sharma.

While discussing Michelle Forbes current performance in HBO’s IN TREATMENT, TV Squad takes a close look at her career to date...while TV Guide's Michael Ausiello fantasy-casts her in Joss Whedon's new series DOLLHOUSE (along with Ben Browder, love it!!). If you still haven’t caught up with IN TREATMENT, I cannot recommend it enough. Last Friday’s episode (Week 6/Friday) was an amazing look at Forbes’ character on the show. You can get some of the eps, and lots of recap footage on HBO’s brand new YouTube channel, and on iTunes.

It will come as no surprise to any BSG fan that Entertainment Weekly has picked Katee Sackhoff as one of their 30 Actresses Under 30, a list of the finest young stars in Hollywood now. Paging the DOLLHOUSE casting department!

Here’s to you, Katee…

Review of upcoming Season 3 DVD

The Digital Bits has posted a review of the Battlestar Galactica Season 3 DVD set for the USA, coming out on March 18th. The review details the many extras on the set, including some of the contents of the "Ron Moore version" of Unfinished Business which has been extended an additional 25 minutes (WARNING for several big spoilers about the extended scenes).

The review also describes extras that fans have never seen before:

  • A second commentary on Hero by David Eick, who wrote the episode;
  • A commentary by Ron Moore for the extended version of Unfinished Business;
  • An estimated hour's worth of deleted scenes from Season 3 (WARNING for big spoilers about contents in the review);
  • 7 additional David Eick videoblogs that have never been posted online.
Wow, an hour of deleted scenes? That's like an extra episode. Sounds like a fantastic package. I cannot wait for my Amazon order to arrive!

What The Frak?

IMDB has posted a wonderful Battlestar Galactica Show Recap video, that covers the entire series from Mini to end of Season 3, and it's snarky good fun. Plus it gets kudos from this fan, for so carefully tracking my two favorite 'ships: Starbuck/Apollo, and Roslin/Airlock. Heh heh.

All in all, a fun way to convince someone they need to catch up by April 4th.

Check it out here.

ETA: Fandom, being the obsessed lovefest that it is, has put the recap on youtube - and has realized that the narrator is the same person who voiced the 8-minute LOST Recap du snark video released before S4. You can also see the BSG Recap on SciFi Pulse.

Frak me, this video never gets tired.

Video intro to last year's Comic Con panel "The Ladies of Battlestar"...also fun to watch again: Sci Fi Channel's full video of the panel with Mary McDonnell, Tricia Helfer, Katee Sackhoff, Lucy Lawless, David Eick and Ron Moore.

More interviews

Australian TV channel TEN has updated their Battlestar Galactica video interview page a bit more with new video of Jamie Bamber, Michael Hogan, Mary McDonnell and Kandyse McClure. Meshel73 has details and frame grabs here at the battlestar blog. Like the other videos there, these were taped during season 3 and are about topics from 3.0 episodes.

Season 3 deleted scenes

Several eagle-eyed fans have noticed that the official Battlestar Galactica Season 3 DVD web site has been updated. It now has Season 3 deleted scenes, and a game that will unlock additional scenes. Apparently the ones in the game will NOT be on the DVD set - so here's your chance to see them.

[hat tip to the Livejournal battlestar blog for the heads up!]

BSG Cast talks about Season 3

Some terrific new interview videos have been posted with cast Mary McDonnell, Jamie Bamber, Michael Hogan, Aaron Douglas, Grace Park, Kandyse McClure, and the show’s Production Designer Richard Hudolin, via the Australian Channel 10 HD. These interviews only discuss season 3 – and seem to have been shot while they were still shooting early S3 episodes.

Voting...Lots of Cast News...Chatter off the Wireless...

E! Online is taking votes for Best TV Show of 2007, come on over and give Battlestar Galactica your vote. Over here they pick BSG as one of the must-see shows for 2008.

The Remote Access blog squees a bit about the upcoming S3 DVD release and the 25-minutes of extra UNFINISHED BUSINESS. (You can also vote there for BSG as your most-awaited 2008 midseason show.)

Galactica.TV recently posted this Callum Keith Rennie interview. Although the interview took place quite a while ago, it provides a rare and in-depth view of the BSGverse from the man who plays Leoben.

Jamie Bamber will be a guest at Seattle’s Emerald City Con in May 2008.

Tricia Helfer’s site points us to a video interview with No Good TV about her new film SPIRAL, which also features Amber Tamblyn and Zach (CHUCK) Levi.

Blogger Jeff Harrell expounds at length about something I had never given one moment of thought to. Paging Kevin Grazier…

Buddy TV reports that Aaron Douglas will be appearing in an episode of SMALLVILLE this season, ep #14 called “Traveler.”

New World Notes blog has a funny mention of BSG in a Second Life story.

While trolling for news about Alan Ball’s new show TRUE BLOOD, I came across another tidbit of HBO show news halfway down this page of Ask Ausiello: IN TREATMENT will begin airing on January 28th on HBO and apparently Michelle Forbes ("Admiral Cain") will have a supporting role. According to TV Squad, the show has 45 eps in the can.

All Seasons in HD Reruns?

Tipsters Mike and Glenn have both alerted us that the Universal HD channel has been doing promotions for BATTLESTAR GALACTICA reruns from Season 1 all the way to the end of Season 3 in High Definition. You can see two promo videos here on the UHD site.

However nothing shows up on the UHD schedule grid.

Mike says his DVR has already tagged the HD showing of the first ep of S1, "33," for tonight at 8PM.

Stay vigilant. This show kicks serious frakkin' ass in High Def!

OT: UHD is also listing runs for FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS*, FIREFLY, and SIX FEET UNDER in High Def.

Battlestar Galactica…a $62 Million Franchise?

We fans rarely hear any solid information about just how much money the BSG DVDs and legal downloads actually earn for the robot overlords…er, I mean, NBC Universal. Recently I noticed this BSG Season 3 sell-sheet above.

$62 Million, huh? Wonder if this includes all DVDs from the Mini to Season 2…global sales figures, or just American sales…does it include downloads? This is what we fans do when we get bored during an Endless Hiatus. *g*

And, because I JUST CANNOT RESIST, news on a related tangent: via NewTeeVee comes this story that a recent survey of torrent downloads rates BSG as the 3rd most downloaded TV show on the torrentstream, just behind HEROES and TOP GEAR.
