From the skiffy forum today...if you are interested in a copy of this DVD, send these guys an email to pre-order. When they get at least 150 pre-order emails, they will go to press. I want one! *g*
ETA: When you send your email, be sure to specify 1) that you want "the special BSG DVD" and 2) your NTSC or PAL preference; see comments section for more details.
What's this about?
In mid-April, Jamie Bamber, Leah Cairns, Nicki Clyne, Michelle Forbes and Mary McDonnell were among the 18 star guests at Europe's biggest annual Trek/genre convention, FedCon XVII - The Lost World, which was held in Bonn, Germany. Attended by 5000 geeks from 22 countries, it was probably the biggest BSG party the non-US world has ever seen.
Every year, the guys at Intex Digital Sound produce a 2-DVD set covering many on-stage and off-stage happenings of the FedCon weekend. But this year, there could be more! Paying tribute to the massive BSG focus of this year's con (and to the show's rabid fanbase), they plan to release a special 2-DVD set featuring more than five hours of BSG panels/interviews.
What will be on the DVD's?
Eight slightly abridged Q&A panels and four interviews:
- Jamie Bamber's solo panel
- Jamie Bamber and Mary McDonnell's joint panel
- Leah Cairns's solo panel
- Leah Cairns and Nicki Clyne's joint panel
- Nicki Clyne's solo panel
- Michelle Forbes's first solo panel
- Michelle Forbes's second solo panel
- Mary McDonnell's solo panel
- an interview with Jamie Bamber
- an interview with Leah Cairns and Nicki Clyne
- an interview with Michelle Forbes
- an interview with Mary McDonnell
Yeah, but... what does "slightly abridged" mean?
Each panel was around 45 minutes (=six hours total). Hence, even though both DVD's will be packed, cuts are necessary. The producers promise the panels will be edited very carefully, cutting each of them down to around 40 minutes. (For example, some Cain-related questions were more or less asked during both Michelle's panels.)
Squee! How do I get my hands on that?
First of all, the 2-DVD set won't get made unless there's at least 150 people who are interested. The price would be 19,50 euros ($30), excluding shipping. If you would like to buy the DVD's, please send an e-mail to email@example.com (no worries, those guys speak English wink.gif). Once they have 50 pre-orders, they'll start working on the material. And once the 150-people threshold is reached, each and everyone will be notfied via e-mail, after which individual paying arrangements can be discussed (credit card, PayPal etc.).
As a courtesy, please mention you learned about this offer via Caprica City (we guys are doing all the promo, but we won't get residuals, of course).
