I'm so glad Katee Sackhoff said that the show was never about finding Earth. I've long felt that was a silly plot point -- just like revealing who is or isn't a cylon. It's all about the dehumanization and homogenization of "the other" and how we are all capable of kindness and cruelty. The show was so loved by me for exploring the human condition with great political insight and dramatic realism. That's what made the first 3 seasons so great. I think the show has lost its way in this last season by focussing the story-telling self-consciously too much on finding earth. Without a 5th season, we've missed out on more opportunities for political exploration of the most pressing issues of our time. It shall never be because of greedy bottom-liners like Bonnie Hammer, who also cancelled The 4400 when it was at its most brilliant and politically insightful. Thanks for that one, too, Bonnie.

I'm amazed to realize just how much I adore these actors. They've delivered so much gold over the course of the show.

Katee looks really different with conventional makeup. It doesn't compete with her natural face.

@Muld, I'm not sure anyone is to blame for BSG only going 4 seasons, other than Ron and David who decided on their own to make a 4 year show. Yeah, I guess they could have tried for a 5th, but economic considerations would have been a factor, and ratings, etc. So, it probably would have been a roll of the dice.

Better to go out when you're riding high.

Plus, a lot of the themes you wish to see explored will probably be topics for Caprica.

Logan, I agree. Better to go out on a high note than with any episodes considered filler. To date, only one episode (or 2) would meet that criteria. I am looking forward to/dreading the finale. BSG is my crack.
