More Better. And Jane.

Time Out NY thinks BATTLESTAR GALACTICA was the best show on TV this year. (And that the characters on FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS are like unicorns. And that Gaeta's song was really, really good.)

The Los Angeles Times thinks finding Earth on BSG was one of the best moments on TV this year.

Jane Espenson has been busy talking to Sci Fi Wire about THE PLAN, the webisodes, and her new gig working on DOLLHOUSE. So busy is Jane, in fact, that she's apparently ending her blog on TV writing.

Another busy one: Mark Sheppard, who spoke with iF Magazine about his work on the new show LEVERAGE, as well as the BSG finale and his parts on DOLLHOUSE and MEDIUM.

Random Mary McDonnell-related sidenote: the director's cut of DONNIE DARKO hits Blu-Ray early next year.

I'm glad the show is getting some respect, even though these supposed fans of the show never talk about it where it matters -- i.e. when they're discussing the fall TV season on Charlie Rose and other shows or on talk shows like Leno, Letterman, and Conan to help drive up viewership; this includes actors and other celebrities who are fans like Quentin Tarantino and Robin Williams; hey guys, while you're promoting your own crappy project, how about a little love so fans of your work will check out BSG and it won't die early?!

I'd feel better also if so many folks didn't think The Shield were a better show. The Shield is bloody awful. I've bought and watched 5 full seasons for my father; it's enjoyable vengence TV, but utterly sleazy, commercially driven, and sensationalistic; it has no real political overtones whatever; all the gang violence is not explained in terms of its root social, economic, and political causes, so we just get more fear of Latinos and blacks, and I HATE the way the program has an atmosphere of male chauvinism where all women fall for that scumbag Vic Mackey; I HATE HIM!
