From SciFi Wire:
More than 3,000 props, costumes, memorabilia and other items from SCI FI Channel's original series Battlestar Galactica will be auctioned off as the fourth and final season draws to a close.
The auction, sponsored by NBC Universal Television, DVD, Music and Consumer Products Group and Propworx, will include such items as the uniform worn by Adm. William Adama (Edward James Olmos) and a life-sized Cylon Centurion costume.
NBC Universal and Propworx will conduct two live auctions in Los Angeles, along with a series of Internet auctions coinciding with the airing of the show's final 10 episodes, which starts in early 2009.
Items that will be available to purchase include the flight suits worn by Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff) and Apollo (Jamie Bamber), several life-sized Vipers and Raptors and Cylon Raiders and pieces of the Combat Information Center (CIC).
[wait...I thought Katee Sackhoff was having that viper jock bronzed?...]

I'm guessing they had more than one copy of the flight suits for each of them.
:)
life-sized cylon centurian costume? huh?
Well, Shayna beat me to it, but I was going to say Jamie already swiped his flight suit from the set. ;)
Now this is exciting. I want that big Caprican symbol that's shown behind the president whenever (s)he is shown in the little conference room with the quorum.
Time to start recycling some bottles or something.
OMG you serious? Some rich guy is going to be lucky enough to display a full-size Viper Mark 2 or Raptor in their living room and/or backyard?
I'm SO jealous! I wish I had 50 grand to throw away.
Not to mention Starbuck and Apollo's flight suits!
Honestly, I think this is all wrong. Unless they have several copies of all these, I truly hope they put them on display in a museum or something for ALL fans to enjoy. In fact I was hoping the same for the BSG set, proposing to the NBC execs to have people pay for visits to the set. I'm sure there would be many BSG fans who'd make a pilgrimage to worship the BSG set and props, including me :P
What about the extra episode(s) that are supposed to be shot?
Won't they, like, need some of this stuff?
@instructor: Well if they digitize all the sets, as Sci Fi Channel's Mark Stern has said they are doing...and they shoot the telefilm this fall...and the auctions aren't happening till season 4.5 airs in January 2009...
All seems doable to me.
