I have had some questions about the whole Cylon thing. First off what did the Cylons do before the revolt? What kind of work did they do? Where they soldiers, factory workers, etc?

It is clear that there was a Galatic fleet prior to the revolt. What was the purpose of the army? In general civilizations build armies and fleets to protect themselves against a threat. Was there anyone except the colonies to defend against prior to the Cylon revolt?? If not then why build such an elaborate fleet of Battlestars?

ALso if the original Cylons were toasters then where did the skin jobs come into the story. How could the Colonel who was perhaps born before the advent of the Cylons be a skin job?

I always thought that Tigh was being unduly paranoid in thinking the FF would be airlocked if their identities were known. After all Athena was accepted by Adama, why not FF? From preview, I'm now thinking that airlocking them may be a security measure to keep them & their knowledge away from the Cylons. On a lighter note, since Kara doesn't believe in divorce, is finding out your husband's a cylon adequate grounds for an annulment? While her relationship with Lee appears as "dead" as Kara may be herself, his killing Sam would probably preclude any future for them. Mm, they said it would be a dark, dark season, and they weren't kidding.

Interesting but it does not answer my questions.

Here is another question. If Cylons can not reproduce with other Cylons, then how did Tigh get the 6 pregnant? Perhaps he is not the only one making visits to the sassy Cylon?

Well, what does Earth have armies and battleships for? Presumably there were wars between the colonies before the cylons had been created. Cylons could have been used as soldiers or miners in hostile environments.
But I would really like the show to explain some of the backgrounds once. Maybe 'Caprica' will do it? Tigh's history will be hopefully cleared up in one of the future episodes when we learn about the nature of the final five.

There were wars between the Colonies, some pretty big and in fact the last ones were just before the Cylon War began. In S1 we were told the Articles of Colonisation unifying the Twelve Colonies were signed 52 years earlier, shortly after the Cylon War began. It was the Cylon War that unified the colonies. Before that they were fighting one another.

Also, whilst Tigh appears to be 60 years old or so, the earliest anyone has reported any contact with him is 20 years earlier, when Adama first met him. It's possible that Tigh is considerably younger than his appearance makes him out to be (similar to Cavil, I assume).

Why are the the Space previews so much better than the Sci-Fi Channel's?

@instructor: as someone who works in advertising myself, I can say there is no single answer for that. Could be one or more of many, many reasons...
