More wicked cool rumors

The Doctor and Mrs. Who radio show broadcast another new rumor last night. Their production source is telling them that the two-part series finale which begins shooting next week might get extended to a three-hour event, adding one more hour to BATTLESTAR GALACTICA’s fourth and final season. Apparently The Sci Fi Channel will be making a decision whether or not to do this within the week.

Great news if true…

ETA: Jamie Bamber just gave this moderately spoilery interview to Zap2It, in which he confirms a three-hour finale is possible. Bamber News has posted an edited version with most of the spoilers removed.

Jamie Bamber confirmed the rumor in his interview with Zap2It. For any spoilerphobes I posted a non-spoilery edit of the interview at Bamber News: http://community.livejournal.com/bamber_news/80879.html

The Bamber interview on Zap2It threw a little cold water on the 3 2-hour movies we've heard are in the works. Other sources have said the contracts have been signed, but Bamber made them sound iffy. Anyone with the hard facts on that one?

All we know for sure about those movies is in Mo Ryan's piece from 2 weeks ago. The contracts end but that doesn't mean deals with individual actors cannot be struck to do telefilms.

Couldn't they go out like they started, with a four-hour two-parter?

It would be nice symmetry, right?
