The preview clip for tomorrow's episode is up on Hulu...and boy it's a good one.
I have a couple of rather spoilerly things to say about the clip, which I am putting in the comments below. Come on down if you'd like to discuss further.
Meanwhile, The Futon Critic has posted an interview with Mark Verheiden, who wrote this week's ep.

That looks awesome. I can't wait for the episode
As much as Leoben has always squicked me to the max, with his creepy religious ferver and freaky mind games, there is also no denying he knows things about Starbuck that humanity does not. Except, possibly, for the oracles...and Starbuck's mother (a plot point that I pray TPTB do not blow off in this final season).
He sees her, sees through her. It's chilling. In a good way.
From this clip I guess that the short bits we have seen in the BSG ad campaign showing Kara chatting up a hybrid on a basestar - that is NOT a dream/ hallucination/ projection? *GLEE*
Meanwhile, am I also to assume from this clip that this Leoben has escaped the massacre between basestars of last week, and managed to bump into the Demetrius in deep space? Um, OK. Just keep telling yourself: "It's just a TV show...it's just a TV show...it's art, not reality. They can do these things." ;)
I thought you might be interested in a post on my own blog (one of many related to religious themes in Battlestar Galactica). This one is about the Gospel according to Gaius in last week's episode.
I can't wait to see where they go with this theme next...
I can't wait for this one either. And no wonder there will be mutiny on the Demetrius..she's not exactly jabbing a fork in Leo's throat is she? "Put him in my quarters"....geez, and she was about to space Gaeta for not doing anything about her situation on NC with Leoben. I say all that to explain I understand how everyone is going to freak, but at the same time, I do love CreepyLeoben and his mind games with Kara! And she goes and listens to the Hybrid?! Can. Not. Wait. Are you guys going to bother with the little half episode online tomorrow?
I'm gonna waste my time with the preview tomorrow on SciFi.com. Last week was the first time I tried it, and was soooo disappointed, so I think I'm just gonna wait for the episode to air.
I've become terribly weak when it comes to BSG...I watch every little promo, every video blog, any little crumb I can find. So I'm sure I'll be glued to the monitor, lose track of time, and then squeak when it goes dead. And then wait and be glued to the set at night.
I wish they would do more with Athena and her reactions to, thoughts on, and interactions with other cylons. I know there is only so much time in an episode but it would be nice to see. (Of course I'm still irritated that they went back for survivors on Caprica but didn't even discuss the possibilities of survivors on other colonies. grrrr)
@bryan: I find it fascinating that Athena has become so dedicated to her humanness that she has lost all sympathy for Starbuck. Ouch.
@maeghan: Well, c'mon now - 20 minutes of free online preview is a good deal. As long as WE KNOW THAT'S WHAT WE'RE GETTING. I won't have time this week to watch, but I would if I could.
Logan are you going to watch? Do you have time?
I don't know. I might check out the preview of the ep if I get a chance. How much do they show now anyway?
the DOOMED LOVERS arc:
Kara/Leoben seem to be the archetypal (and literal) star-crossed lovers, modeled perhaps on one of these sets - forbade from being together but impossible to keep apart:
Pyramus and Thisbe
Lancelot and Guinevere
Tristan and Isolde
Hagbard and Signy
Paris and Helen
Their orbits are tightening - Kara's revulsion and resistence lessening to acceptance and ... love?
They will end up together.
Thus Kara cannot be the Final Cylon - this lovers' story is about the coming together of two lovers from opposite camps.
Geez, the Skiffy website says its a "10 minute sneak peek" at this weeks episode. Lovely. Pretty soon we'll get to see up till the credits roll.
Radii: I cant help but think of the First Hybrid's prophecy in "Razor" after reading your post:
"And in the midst of confusion, he will find her, enemies brought together by impossible longing, enemies now joined as one. The way forward, at once unthinkable, yet inevitable."
@anonymous: After reading your post, I can't help but think of something else the First Hybrid said in RAZOR:
"Kara Thrace will lead the human race to its end. She is the herald of the apocalypse, the harbinger of death. They must not follow her."
Two things you need to remember in this series:
1) Never believe a Cylon
2) Never believe you understand a prophesy
proggrrl: After reading *your* post, I can't help but think of yet something else the First Hybrid said in "Razor":
"Suck it monkeys! I'm goin' corporate!"
Wait a minute . . . .

"This would be your salary."
*SSSSSLLLLLLLAAAAPPPPPP!*
"I know!"
@blankphotog: WORD.
@radii (1st post): IDK radii - Starbuck in this scene reminds me less of Isolde or Guinivere - and more of Ripley in ALIEN rewiring Ash's decapitated head...so desperate for information that she'll do just about anything with anybody.
Proggrrl:
Is it weird that, when someone at work comes to talk to me in my office, I say to them, "No! No! We are *nwot* going to twalk about the fwragile bwody of Giaus fwrakkin' Bwaltar! Door!"?
I get strange looks.
@Anon: *chuckling*
That rarely goes as well in the meatspace. Unless you're on a (sound)stage.
One of my main reasons for blogging. ;)
