The Hybrid's Prophesy

Padawanmage on the Live Journal Battlestar Blog posted an accurate full transcript of what the First Hybrid said at the end of the extended version of Razor on DVD.

Let the speculation of what it means begin.

It pretty much supported my theory that the cylon/human hybrid is to replace humanity, and that by extension... that would make all of us part cylon.

I've listened very carefully to the first Hybrid's statement and must respectfully disagree as to what LiveJournal says he said. I think this is actually what he says:

[OLD MAN HYBRID SOAKS IN HIS TANK AND SPEAKS, ATTENDED TO BY OLD-MODEL CYLONS]

"At last season 4 approaches ... I feel the death-knell as season 3 slips away into oblivion - forgotten, not forgotten - well, maybe by NBC/Sci-Fi executives. I feel good new episodes approaching and the ultimate climax that finally reveals all - yet with more tedious teasing out of the Kara/Loeben love story. I sense misdirection as the twice-foreshadowed Roslin as the final Cylon doesn't quite pan out and the writers make you wait until over half way through season 4 for the reveal of mop-haired Boxy as the final cylon - resurrected from the deleted scenes in the miniseries (resurrection indeed!)... I sense - I sense ... these annoying tubes in my body - are these clean?

... I see before me playing out the future lives of the actors as they go on to other projects if the strike persists ... and desperate BSG fans making their own films on YouTube to finish an incomplete 4th season with really dumb ideas like all the female cyclons as lesbians in a hot tub - wait ... wait ... I see an alternate time-stream in which the strike ends and season 4 is completed and the fans are very happy with the outcome - yet not fully satisfied with the Earth is Cylon / cylons are human - 'we are all one' marshmellow roast on the Cypress beach ending ... I sense Bionic Woman going to that channel for cancelled shows ... I see Jamie Bamber making a bad Hugh Grant-type film that bombs ... I see Tricia Helfer turning down Species 5 ... I see Grace Park turning down Playboy and Maxim ... I see Bill Duke complaining that he got stuck in the worst episode of a great show ... I see classically-trained James Callis bitching that Bamber got the big monologue ... I see - hey, is this water clean anyway? What is this goo? - Oop, I see bubbles, I must've farted ...

... lastly, my children, I see fans misinterpreting me as the cylon god - or god, and not realizing that I am merely the first Hybrid - the Kia to the new Hybrid's BMW ...

... I see too many words, too many second-tier characters, too many dangling plotlines, too many unanswered questions ... oh wait, that's Lost and Heroes ...

Hey, shiney! Come here and warm my bathwater!"

In the Razor DVD commentary Moore and Taylor say that Universal Home Video needed the longer statement from the hybrid, as a tease for season 4. So, that's the reason for the whole thing.
