I know that was funny about Jake! He did say on a podcast, that if he'd know about fandom love for Jake sooner, Romo's cat might have been a dog...
You can always write to Universal Home Video, and the SciFi Channel, with requests for deleted scenes to go on DVDs or on SciFi Pulse. Heck - maybe they'll listen!
I was also very satisfied that RDM addressed the Kara/Leoben question that was on so many minds. And I got the answer I was hoping for...
