Emmy nominee short list

Wisteria has noticed that Gold Derby got their hands on the Emmy Best Drama nominee short list, and BSG is not on it. Sigh. Maybe the actors can still get noticed. On the positive side, I'm shocked and pleased to see Rome and Weeds on the lists.

If you dig through this list:
http://goldderbyforums.latimes.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/1106078764/m/53610293

you can see who's names are submitted for nomination, and for which episode is to be considered. Mary McDonnell: Crossroads 1-2; EJO: A Day in the Life (!); Jamie Bamber: Crossroads 2; Mark Shepperd: Crossroads 2; Katee Sackhoff: Maelstrom; Michael Hogan: Exodus 2.

For BSG's drama nomination entry they submitted Collaborators. Probably because they thought picking a stand alone ep yet one with pretty heavy drama would be a good pick. But, I think that was a mistake. They should have gone with Any one of these:
Occupation
Exodus 1-2
Crossroads 1-2
Or perhaps Son Also Rises as a really good dramatic mostly stand alone ep. Son Also Rises is also the submission for Tricia Helfer in the supporting actress catagory.

From the looks of it, the best chance for nominations could be McDonnell, Hogan, and maybe Sackoff.

I'll try to be optimistic. ;)

Logan-

Also James Callis for A Measure of Salvation. I'm surprised that didn't get more discussion amongst BSG fans - Callis is incredible, but I really don't hear as much about him from the communities (please don't hit me, CallisRocks).

Ugh, I read this recently, and hope against hope it's not true. The show is a cut above everything else out there! Oh well, as the consolation prize, I got my parents hooked on it this week ;).

It's lame that sci-fi/fantasy/spec-fic shows get snubbed again and again by the Emmys - OTOH, some of the best shows such as BSG get closer and closer every season. The fact that Gold Derby has BSG as a top contender that *didn't* get on the short list is to me a pretty darned big deal for sci-fi!!!
